on the screen. Like the original DOS version, The Optical Shop - Frame Inventory
Management is a true multi-user application that supports most forms of
networking protocols that you would have in your office. Version 5.xx of The
Optical Shop - Frame Inventory Management is now available as a 32/64bit
GUI application with full multi-threading, multi-tasking so that many of the
processes will run in the background without you being aware of it. This makes
routines like reports compile for viewing or printing very fast.
The
Optical Frame Inventory Management program for Windows had it's start in 1983 as
a simple inventory control program created to run in the CPM and the early DOS
environment. By 1992, it grew into a fully integrated, modular, user friendly
Optical Practice Management system that is still in use in a number of practices
to this day.
Software/Hardware Requirements for Windows:
Operating system:
Windows XP, Vista SP1, Win7 (v.5.3x) Intel
/ AMD or compatible CPU processors capable of 800Mz speed or better. Ram -
512Mb min. 1Gb recommended for single user systems. NOTE: Windows XP requires
min 384Mb RAM just to run. Systems running concurrent applications require
more memory than the 512Mb Frame Inventory requirement. This is for the Bar code
Printer Drivers and whatever programs that must run on the installed
system. (Windows Vista Bus. SP1 requires a min. 1.8GHz Cpu and 2Gb. 400Mz
RAM. Please be aware that Vista has issues with file certifications
(locking/unlocking) and there are reports, industry wide, of security/file isues
and lockups with Vista and multi-proccessor (Dual/Tri/Quad) processor
CPUs. Hard Drives - 250Mb of space required. Port's - 1 LPT, 1
USB type 2 or 2 USB type 2 for a standard printer and the Bar code Printer. Keyboard Wedge
or Blue Tooth WiFi, bar code scanner.
